What type of coffee does Organo Gold use and where is it sourced?
Organo Gold coffee uses 100% premium Arabica coffee beans. These are grown in Brazil, South America.
Robusta coffee beans have higher caffeine content and hence are more acidic than the Arabica coffee beans. It’s said that the Arabica coffee beans are the “cream of the crop” of the premium coffee beans available.
How is Ganoderma Coffee different from regular coffee or decaffeinated coffee?

Regular coffee is acidic and dehydrating. It increases the risk of various heart conditions due to increased blood pressure and cholesterol. It results in coffee jitters and damages blood vessels.
Decaffeinated coffee is far worse. To remove the caffeine, the process of decaffeination involves the addition of chemicals to the coffee. This may be more harmful to your health than the caffeine itself. Even then, decaffeinated coffee is still not 100% caffeine-free.
But, Organo Gold Coffee with the addition of Ganoderma has about 150 antioxidants. This helps with natural detoxification and heightens the strength of your immune system.
It is non-acidic and does not result in coffee jitters. This is because it doesn’t cause the release high levels of cortisol into your system from high caffeine content found in other types of coffee.
Organo Gold provides energy and vigor. It also improves the immune system, improving your general health and well-being. Its effect on your blood is pH neutral, so drinking Ganoderma coffee is a better choice compared to the negative effects regular coffee can have.
Is Organo Gold Coffee Decaffeinated?
No, caffeine is a natural component of any coffee. But, the caffeine content is less than regular coffee as a result of the infusion of Ganoderma into the coffee. Hence, the boost that you get is not from caffeine, but from the Ganoderma or Lingzhi, which is pushing more oxygen into your bloodstream.

Do you have proof of Ganoderma’s effectiveness? What are the Organo Gold Coffee health benefits?
Ganoderma or Red Reishi is a regulator that perfects our body’s immune system. It works by detecting pathogens that attack and compromise our body’s health. Studies have shown that Ganoderma helps the body fight various types of stress. This includes exposure to toxins, infection, psychological stress, trauma, insomnia, and radiation.
Scientists have also studied Ganoderma’s use as an adjunct treatment for:
- arthritis,
- cancer,
- insomnia,
- heart disease,
- high cholesterol, and
- high blood sugar,
along with many other diseases.
There have been numerous studies conducted throughout the world looking at its use for treatments of many ailments.
At present, there are human clinical trials in Australia by the University of Western Sydney. They are investigating its claims of its effects on conditions and diseases associated with:
- the heart,
- diabetes, and
- metabolic syndrome or Syndrome X.
What type of Ganoderma does Organo Gold Coffee use?
Organo Gold Coffee uses Ganoderma Lucidum. It comes from the Red Reishi mushrooms and is well known in Asia as a miracle herb. This is because of its healing properties and many health benefits. In China, it’s known as the “King of Herbs”. This Ganoderma is 100% organic certified the USDA, the European Union, China, and Japan.
Organo Gold cultivates its own Ganoderma in a specially designed facility in the clean air of British Columbia, Canada. The design of the facility is so the Ganoderma can be cultivated from tree logs. This is how it was sourced in nature centuries ago.
Organo Gold uses only 100% Organic Ganoderma, not ‘plastic bag’ or synthetic Ganoderma.
Do Organo Gold Coffee, Tea, and other beverages come in instant packages only?
Most Organo Gold Coffee products do come in instant packets for ease of consumption. This is because over 80% of coffee consumed is still done so via the ‘instant’ method. Organo wanted to stick with this trend for people to consume their favorite beverage easily. This means they can have their favorite cup no matter where they are; home, work or out and about.
In some countries such as USA, Canada, and the Philippines you can buy Jamaica Blue Mountain Brewed Royal Coffee… this does not come in an ‘instant’ form.
I don’t like instant coffee at all, why should I try this?
To be honest, Organo Gold Coffee does not have the same taste as an Espresso.
If you try Organo Gold Coffee, you will notice that it has a smooth and unique taste. It does not taste like other ‘instant brands’ that you may be quick to associate with as this is premium coffee.
It doesn’t have the bitter aftertaste that you can get from strong brewed coffee. Close friends and relatives have said the same. It has a pleasant effect in your mouth and you feel the ‘pick up’ from the Ganoderma and increased alertness.
Best of all, it will not give you coffee jitters or the crash often associated with drinking coffee.
People have very distinct tastes and have different individual preferences, so only by trying it for yourself will you know if you like it or not.

Why do I need to switch to Organo Gold Coffee?

If you are a coffee lover, the best option is to look for a better alternative to the regular coffee you consume. Regular coffee has high levels of caffeine which releases adrenaline into your system causing stress on your body. It’s the highs and lows that you experience each time you have a coffee that can be putting your system under undue stress. On top of this, the high acidic content and that it dehydrates you are also not good for you.
With Organo Gold, you can have your cup of coffee and at the same time improve your well-being. You don’t need to feel guilty for drinking coffee because the Ganoderma counteracts the effects of the caffeine. It is not acidic, but rather is pH neutral. It provides increased alertness and energy without the coffee crashes and jitters.
Best of all it boosts your immune system due to its antibacterial and antiviral properties.
The benefits of Organo Gold Coffee are far too important to brush aside. Imagine yourself enjoying a great tasting coffee without the guilt… knowing you are making a better choice and will feel and notice the difference.
Will I notice any difference in the taste and smell of the coffee/tea?
Organo Gold Coffee definitely has the aroma associated with coffee. Some people do comment on noticing a different flavor due to the Ganoderma extract present in the coffee. However, it does not detract from the taste of the coffee or tea. Rather, it even gives you a unique, pleasant and smooth taste experience.
Why infuse the Ganoderma into the Coffee and Tea?
By infusing Ganoderma into the beverage, people can ingest it without having to take another supplement or do anything different from the usual routine.
Drinking coffee, tea, or hot chocolate comes naturally. Most of us do it first thing when we get up in the morning and then many times throughout the day.
Creating a new habit for many can be hard to do. It takes energy and focus, and usually about 30 days before a new activity becomes routine.
If you are like me, I have lots of good intentions to take my supplements, but often forget, leaving them sitting on my kitchen bench or desk at work.
By infusing the Ganoderma into the coffee, tea, and other beverages, you don’t have to change anything. So it’s like getting these wonderful benefits without the hard work.
That is the brilliance of infusing Ganoderma into coffee & tea. It makes our lives easier, not more complicated.
How is this coffee priced compared to regular coffee?
A regular cup from various coffee chains or your local cafe could easily cost you between $3 – $5 each. A cup of Organo Gold Black will only cost you a dollar a cup.
Or if you’re like me and you don’t like super-strong coffee, it’s only 50 cents a cup (I only need to use half a sachet as this suits my taste preference). I find half a sachet is perfect.
This is no regular coffee; this is premium Coffee with Ganoderma. What you are paying for is not so much the Coffee, but the Ganoderma with all its wonderful properties.
Is it safe for teenagers or the elderly to drink?
Organo Gold Ganoderma coffee is a better choice when it comes to drinking coffee, for the many reasons outlined above. These include preventing coffee jitters, not being acidic or dehydrating. And because of the Ganoderma having antibacterial and antiviral properties, it is much better for you.
Teenagers and the elderly can drink this coffee in moderation unless discouraged by their doctor due to possible complications. As with other coffee and tea products, Organo Gold coffee and tea still contains caffeine. So if you have any concerns, please consult your health professional.

Are there any side effects with Organo Gold Coffee?
Most people do not experience any Organo Gold Coffee side effects whatsoever.
However, some people who suffer from sensitive stomachs may experience discomfort in the beginning. Since Ganoderma has a detoxifying effect on the body, it may break down the buildup of toxins in the intestinal wall. This is short-lived and should disappear once you expel the toxins from the body.
Does this mean I have to give up drinking my regular coffee?
It is for you to decide. The cappuccino or latte that you get from your favorite coffee shop is neither healthy nor cheap. With Organo Gold Ganoderma Coffee, you are not only getting value for money, but you are also improving your health in the process.
If you are like me and are health conscious and look after your body, you want to prevent disease and illness. As such, you may want to switch to Organo Gold as your regular coffee.
But, I too like to indulge in a cappuccino from time to time, especially when out and about with friends. When I do it’s my guilty treat and wicked pleasure. Straight away I get the coffee jitters and feel a little fatigued and craving sugar a few hours later. I know to expect this and turn straight back to my Organo Gold Ganoderma Coffee for the next cup.

Is Organo Gold Coffee Organic?
According to the Organo Gold website:
- The Premium Gourmet Organic King of Coffee is classified as organic. Its ingredients are organic coffee and organic Ganoderma lucidum spore powder (5%).
- The Organic Green Tea is organic. Its ingredients are organic green tea and organic Ganoderma lucidum (30%).

How Much Ganoderma is in Organo Gold Coffee?
According to the Organo Gold website, the different products contain different amounts of organic Ganoderma Lucidum. For instance, the website states the products below contain the following amounts of organic Ganoderma Lucidum:
- Gourmet Black Coffee = 5%
- Premium Gourmet Organic King of Coffee = 5%
- Gourmet Café Latte = 5%
- Gourmet Café Mocha = 3%
- Gourmet Hot Chocolate = 5%
- Organic Green Tea = 30%
- Red Tea = ?? (the website states that its red tea contains Ganoderma Lucidum, but does not state the amount)
This indicates that Ganoderma Lucidum is not the main ingredient. It may also indicate that due to the potency of the mushroom, very small quantities are required.
How Much Is Organo Gold Coffee?
Based on an 8-ounce size, Organo Gold compared to Starbucks is an affordable alternative. As a very rough guide, an Organo Gold Black Coffee works out to be around $1 per sachet – roughly half the price of a Starbucks coffee. Mocha and Latte will be a little more than this.
The prices for Starbucks will vary slightly depending on where the coffee shop is located. Larger city prices tend to be slightly less than in smaller communities. Likewise, the cost per sachet of Organo Gold will differ depending on the size of the box… Hence why the pricing above is only approximate.
On a personal note, I like my coffee strong, but I still only have ½ a sachet per mug. So Organo Gold Black Coffee works out to be even cheaper.
How Do You Make Organo Gold Coffee?
The Organo Gold product line is made up of ‘instant’ drinks. As a result, making a cup to enjoy is easy and can be accomplished virtually anywhere.
All you need is a cup of hot water to empty a packet into. Stir until completely mixed and enjoy. The website suggests that different size mugs will provide different tastes:
- 6 oz: rich and flavorful
- 8 oz: smooth and creamy
- 10 oz: light and flavorful
Thanks for this… you have answered so many questions i needed clarification from.
Hi Ruth
My pleasure. I am glad that you have found it useful.
Cheers
Claire
I read through your write up and I must say it’s educative. Please I need to know what time of the day is best to take my organo gold black coffee
Hi Temitope
I am not a health professional, so can’t say what the exact time of day that would be best.
Since Organo Gold Black Coffee does contain caffeine (albeit less than regular coffee), you may not want to have it before going to bed, as it may keep you awake.
I have been drinking the organo gold coffee for about 6 months 1cup(packet) every day. I just found out I am pregnant! We are so excited, but should I continue my regimen? I wonder if it is still safe to drink while I am pregnant. I was advised to drink less then 200mg of caffeine a day (which this should be ok, with what about 9mg a packet, but what about the Mushroom extract) Thanks!
Hi Erin
Thanks for your question, and congratulations on your pregnancy. Very exciting times!
I am not aware of any issues from drinking Organo gold coffee while pregnant, but if you have any concerns at all, it would be best to consult your health care professional.
Thanks and all the best.
Claire
Hi Erin, congratulations. Are you still drinking the coffee? What did the doctors advise you in the end? Thanks
I have type 2 diabetes and like coffee. I however stopped drinking coffee on getting information on the damage that caffeine does to diabetics. As it is I have fallen in love with this Gourmet Black Coffee with Ganoderma Lucidum. Can I drink it and again you mention that there are tea variants, is this really so?
Hi Gbolahan
I answered a similar question recently from another reader called Grace… please check it out in the comments section at the bottom of the post. Click here to view it.
To answer your other question, yes there are tea variants made by Organo that contain Ganoderma Lucidum. They make a Green Tea as well as Black Coffee, Café Latte and Café Mocha. Click here to view some of our write-ups on their coffee products.
cheers
Claire
Hi Gbolahan Onabanjo!
I too am type 2 diabetic. I have been drinking the Organo Black for 6 years. I love it and how it has my numbers in normal range. My doctor told me to keep doing what I’m doing and that’s drinking Organo products! I hope that helps.
Can you drink Organo Gold Black Coffee more than 1 cup a day?
Hi Crisabel
I am not aware of any restrictions whereby you should drink no more than 1 cup/day. I have a couple of cups each day and have been doing so for years.
However I am not a healthcare professional, so please see your doctor if you have any concerns.
To help with insomnia, do you recommend drinking it before bed time? Also is there any restrictions for breastfeeding moms?
Hi Anna
I am not the best sleeper, and I prefer not to have any caffeine before going to bed. I find the Organo products pick me up, which is not what I want before sleeping.
As for restrictions for breastfeeding moms, I am not a health professional, however I am not aware of any restrictions. Please check with your healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Hi
How can I know how much(gr) ganoderma does a 21gr pack of latte contain?
Hi Sadat
According to the Organo website, Gourmet Café Latte contains 5% Ganoderma. So for a 21g sachet, this would be equal to about 1g.
What´s the PH of a cup off this coffee compared with regular coffee which PH goes from 4.9 to 5.2?. I ask this because my doctor suspend the coffee in my diet due to the acidity. I have Berret´s esophagus
Hi Enrique
I am not sure of the pH levels of Organo coffee and tea. Maybe some other readers can help with this??
Hi there. I’d like to know the difference, if any, between normal organo coffee & gold please. Thank you
Hi Marta
They are the same.
Hi how much should you drink in one day of the tea or coffee
Hi Adam
I am not sure that there is a recommended amount, but moderation is probably a good idea.
If you have any concerns, please speak to your doctor for specific advice.
How many times a day to drink coffee. Is there a limit? Thanks.
Hi Kathryn
There is no limit that I am aware of. But common sense says that moderation is best.
If you have any concerns, please see your healthcare professional.
Is it safe for anyone who is on high blood pressure medication to take any of the organo coffee or tea products? If yes, which one is recommended?
Hi Bola
I am not aware of any issues, but I am not a health professional, so if you have any concerns you really should talk to your doctor or health care provider.
Sorry I can’t help any further.
Take care
Regards
Claire
Hi, I would like to use the coffee to loose weight. Is it safe to consume while breastfeeding?

Hi there.
Thanks for your question.
I have not heard of any problems. However, I am not a doctor or health professional so if you have any concerns whatsoever please speak to your doctor.
Thanks and all the best.
Claire

I have not heard of any issues while fasting. However, I am not a doctor, so if you have any concerns, please discuss with your health care professional.

Good Day, How exactly to use the Organo Products?
Can I use milk with Organo Black and how many times a day can I have it?
Is there specific instructions for drinking it?
Hi CJ
The Organo products come in sachets. With Organo Gold Black Coffee, I just treat it like instant coffee… pour the sachet contents into a mug, add hot water, and then milk and sugar to taste.
Other Organo products have sugar and cream already added (like Organo Gold Cafe Latte) so all you do is add water. Just read the label before you try it.
